“It has been long overdue! However, the memories and insights from the visit to BP Business Service Centre Asia have remained with us, and we believe they’re worth sharing.
In December 2023, MySkills was invited to visit the BP Business Service Centre Asia, located in Bangsar South. We were introduced to the BP Social Mobility Agenda and in turn, we presented our mission, vision and plans for the future. In January 2024, BP leadership visited our Kalumpang campus in order to best understand the work we do and to develop comprehensive collaboration possibilities with us.
30 of our students had the opportunity to visit BP Business Service Centre Asia in May 2024 through their Work Insight program – designed specifically for our students to gain exposure to working in a corporate, multinational setting and to better understand the kinds of opportunities available to them upon completion of their studies. From building rapport with the BP facilitators to a floor walk where they got to explore the facilities, our students’ eyes were opened to new possibilities and better inspired to work towards a better future.
Being an Orang Asli Girl! I have never ever imagined that I would have the opportunity to visit the office of such a reputable Multinational Organization. One day I aspire to be working in one of such office environments. – Atiqah-
BP has also generously sponsored used office furniture and equipment, such as chairs, meeting tables, a smart TV and 50 Dell laptops for our use on campus. These donations go a long way in offsetting our financial commitments, allowing us to allocate more resources towards improving the facilities and overall student experience on campus.
The team from BP conducted a comprehensive workshop for our students on essential digital skills, such as laptop usage ethics, cybersecurity best practices and digital safety techniques to combat bullying in tandem with their laptop sponsorship. The workshop also covered effective communication skills, including showing them how to set up professional emails. The session also covered resume writing where each student received personalised assistance from the volunteers to create a polished and impactful resume.
We would like to extend our appreciation for BP Malaysia‘s unwavering support and our gratitude for their generous sponsorship. As we continue to grow and evolve, we are thankful for this partnership which we hope to continue in the future.
