MySkills Foundation youths had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of HSBC’s Global Circle of Excellence which was held in Kuala Lumpur. This global event brought together senior leaders and staff members of HSBC around the world.
A total of 100 MySkills youths participated in a series of sporting activities and notably the Thrive Cafe’ pitching competition. The Thrive Cafe’ required MySkills youths to brainstorm ideas together with the HSBC staff to develop a cafe that would generate income whilst being sustainable in the long run.
A total of six teams were selected to present their ideas based on the aspects of innovation and sustainability and MySkills youths confidently presented their ideas. Platforms as such are a good exercise for MySkills’s youths to hone their critical thinking, communication and teamwork skills which would be instrumental in their career journey later. Thrive Cafe’ ideas have the potential to be realised as an entrepreneurial stint for our MySkills youths as well.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to HSBC for creating this meaningful experience for your youths as well as for their generous contribution in supporting MySkills Foundation’s mission to transform at-risk youths.
