At MySkills Foundation, we believe that sports are not just games—they are powerful tools for life transformation. Integrating sports into our holistic training approach equips at-risk youth with critical life skills such as discipline, resilience, teamwork, and leadership—qualities essential for their future success.
On Wednesday, 16 April 2025, we proudly concluded the press conference for the upcoming inaugural Dover Elevators Cup MySkills U-17 Football Tournament, a landmark initiative underscoring the role of sports in character re-engineering. This event is a testament to the passion and tireless dedication of MySkills’ volunteers and organising team, who worked hand-in-hand to turn this vision into reality.
The launch event, graced by the legendary Datuk K. Rajagobal and supported by Dover Elevators, celebrated the unifying power of football. Inspiring speeches by MySkills leadership, the Organising Committee, our main sponsor, and MySkills youth player Vakesh resonated with a common theme—football as a platform for second chances, self-belief, and community empowerment.
The tournament, set to kick off on 27 April 2025 at MySkills Campus, Kalumpang, will feature 8 local school and club teams including our own MySkills team in a vibrant 7-a-side format. Beyond competition, the tournament nurtures vital aspects of youth development:
Character Building: Fostering resilience, respect, and leadership through sport.
Community Inclusion: Engaging local communities and schools to champion youth empowerment.
Talent Recognition: Providing grassroots players with a platform to shine and grow.
Future Sports Development: Inspiring pathways for youth into structured sports and beyond.
The unveiling of the tournament trophy symbolized more than victory—it marked a renewed commitment to transform lives through opportunity, guidance, and hope. MySkills Foundation remains steadfast in using sport as a bridge to a better, more inclusive future for Malaysia’s underserved youth.
We thank Mr Santhana Dass, Mr Hock Kee Wee, Mr Arunagiri, Mr Mithran, Mr Ramesh Nair, Mr Retna, Mr Tony Mariadass, Coach Ramesh, Coach Sultan and the whole team for all the dedicated efforts and looking forward for the tournament soon.
