Dear Donors and Supporters,
We are excited to share with you the incredible journey of Satish, a 16-year-old who came to Myskills with the help of his uncle. Satish had dropped out of school at the age of 13 and was surrounded by misguided friends. However, at Myskills, we were able to provide him with a new direction in life.
Through our programs, we introduced Satish to various technical skills such as wiring, welding, and the maintenance of air conditioners. Little did we know that Satish had an extraordinary talent for chess until Dato Nazlee, one of our dedicated volunteers, discovered it.
Dato Nazlee, along with his wife Datin Soheir Khatib, has been actively involved with Myskills as volunteers. Every Sunday, they travel from Sec 16 PJ to Kalumpang to make a difference. Dato Nazlee shares his expertise by teaching and training our students in chess, while Datin Soheir conducts SPM classes.
Dato Nazlee is a trained Chemical Engineer and has held various corporate positions, including the CEO of Bioeconomy Corp (formerly known as BiotechCorp). On the other hand, Datin Soheir holds a Law degree from the University of Nottingham and has held senior business and strategy development positions in corporate organizations like Petronas.
Despite their busy schedules, Dato Nazlee and Datin Soheir dedicate their Sundays to guide children from dysfunctional and marginalized families at Myskills. They are true examples of Malaysians who are committed to making a difference in their community.
At Myskills, we believe that regardless of our differences in politics, religion, or language, we can come together to inspire and uplift one another. This Deepavali celebration symbolizes the perseverance of Dato Nazlee and Datin Soheir in empowering and renewing the purpose of life for our youths. We are immensely grateful to them for inspiring us to do more.
As we celebrate the beauty of diversity, we would like to wish you a joyful and prosperous Deepavali on behalf of everyone at Myskills Foundation.
With heartfelt gratitude,
