We were honoured to represent MySkills Foundation at the ASEAN Out-of-School Children and Youth (OOSCY) Seminar 2025, a high-impact regional platform organised by UNICEF Malaysia and the Ministry of Education Malaysia, officiated by YB Puan Fadhlina Sidek, Honourable Minister of Education.
As a Malaysian non-profit dedicated to transforming the lives of at-risk and marginalised youth, MySkills was proud to be featured in Day 4 – Session 14: Second Chance Education, where we shared our 15-year journey of impact , a holistic youth transformation model recognised by the World Bank for empowering NEET youth through character re-engineering, vocational training, and social reintegration.
What made the experience even more meaningful was having two of our students participate in the Student Co-Lab led by Arus Academy, parallel platform that ensured youth voices were included in shaping future policies , not just heard but valued. Their presence reminded all of us that true inclusion begins with listening to those most affected.
We were also privileged to learn from and connect with education leaders and organisations across Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and international bodies including UNESCO, SEAMEO, and OECD – all exchanging insights on how to address the complex realities of out-of-school children and youth across ASEAN.
A heartfelt thank you to UNICEF Malaysia and the Ministry of Education for curating such a powerful and collaborative space for action.
We leave the summit recharged, inspired, and more committed than ever to our mission of building resilient, skilled, and employable youth for Malaysia’s future.
